My favorite time of year each year is when my peonies bloom. I love cutting them and putting them on my dining room table, and especially love the sweet smell they give off. It also signals the end of the long, cold, dark winter when sickness seems to be ever lurking. I feel like it was even more true this winter - between the craziness of Christmas, the girls and I getting the flu the week after Christmas, me being confined to the sofa during the early stages of pregnancy, Chris traveling 2-3 night every week for work, and Mimi being in ICU for three weeks. Not to mention, this pregnancy has just been harder, not sure if its the fact that I'm still nauseous at 23 weeks, or the fact that Chris has been traveling so much (which we are hoping is about to change - he is going to be home ALL week next week!!), or if it just because life does not stop for the girls just because I do not feel well! However, I feel like we are finally coming out of the fog and are so thankful for the beautiful weather outside!!
Here are some of the sweet memories of our household during the fog:
Maddie's Chapel
Every Wednesday is Chapel Day for Miss Maddie. Each class puts on one chapel during the year, and the JK always does the Christmas Chapel.
Maddie was the star of Bethlehem. And even had a speaking part! I was so proud of her.
Emalyn with Carrie waiting for it to begin.
And after a long time coming....
Uncle Tee & Miss Caroline got engaged!!
And all of the Christmas festivities began...
The McClure's Breakfast with Santa Christmas Eve morning.
Bebe & Uncle Tee coming over Christmas morning.
Enjoying their new Christmas presents!
Maddie with McKenna, her first American Girl Doll.
Can you tell Emalyn is excited? She literally leaped for joy. The "lay down stroller" from Pottery Barn Kids was the only thing she asked for for Christmas.
After Christmas we made the trip down to Atlanta to see Chris' grandmother and his dad's side of the family. And while we were there, Mimi and Grand D took the girls to the American Girl Store.
Celebrations
My sweet baby turned 3 - a post is coming from her birthday party!
And this pretty much sums it up :)
They copy everything they see!
